Earlier today the MOVUS team had the pleasure of welcoming Queensland’s Minister for Innovation Kate Jones to the MOVUS office. After the official opening duties Minister Jones spoke about how proud the Government is in MOVUS – a start up success story that is also focused on remaining Queensland based for both the MOVUS team and our manufacturing partner.
There’s a lot of really good content being published across the web and particularly on LinkedIn in relation to predictive maintenance and the benefits it delivers over traditional maintenance practices. Many of the conversations that I have with MOVUS prospects ends up focused around what hidden costs and issues they can overcome by starting the transformation #Industry 4.0 journey.
I’m pleased to advise that effective today MOVUS has relocated into our new head office at 112 Bowen St, Spring Hill. The team has been growing steadily since our successful Series A raise and it was getting very tight at iLab!

MOVUS recently completed a successful Series A funding round with our future plans including growth into international markets.

I’m really excited to see how quickly ANZ manufacturing has adopted the core concepts of Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT) – it points to a bright future for the maligned sector as ‘smarter’ rather than ‘cheaper’ drives innovation and digitalisation.
Earlier this year Accenture released a research report that identified a number of trends that were predicted to impact/drive transformation in the Industrial Refining industry (think oil and gas refining).
There’s a really interesting debate going on at the moment about the effect of smart technology on semi-skilled, and skilled work roles. Despite the doom and gloom forecast by some, there are a number of examples of emerging technology that will change how we work, and change it for the better.
